Umami Gourmet Coffee and Exotic Tea was founded in 2008 by a tea enthusiasts who combined her passion for premium loose leaf tea with her dream of someday owning a business. At Umami, a special emphasis is placed on customer service; we strive to provide the ultimate tea purchasing and shopping experience. In six short years, Umami has managed to successfully sell its products to local tea lovers in the Richmond, Virginia area as well as nationwide with an online store.
As a prominent coffee and tea merchant it is Umami’s goal to explore loose-leaf teas and coffee beans to help our guests find themselves well on their way to a good understanding of two of the most popular beverages in the world. Umami offers a calm atmosphere with complimentary Wi-Fi and a made-to-order beverage bar. Daily tea samples; sniffing jars; and a friendly knowledgeable staff will welcome you to a unique coffee and tea experience. It is however, the taste of each beverage that will speak for itself.
Umami offers specialty loose-leaf teas. Our exclusive blends are of premium quality and include white teas, black teas, oolong teas, green teas, fruit, herbal and rooibos teas. We also offer fresh roasted Arabica beans (available by the pound or brewed to order).
